The Moscow courts’ press service republished a statement about Ilya Traber’s arrest.

On June 18, the text was removed for unknown reasons.

In addition to the arrest of the "authoritative businessman" Traber, the text, as before, mentions the arrest of Alisultan Nadirbegov, a boxer and the alleged killer in the murder of Alexander Petrov.

On October 24, 2020, a killer entered the property of "reputable businessman" and municipal deputy Alexander Petrov in the village of Velikoye, approximately 50 kilometers from Vyborg, and opened fire.

Petrov was the head of three enterprises and the founder of 47 companies in the Vyborg District of the Leningrad Region. The attack on him was linked to the "Vyborg case," which involved the theft of over 700 million rubles from the district budget. Novaya Gazeta reported that the case could be traced back to Traber, who has long-standing and extensive interests there.

Since the late 1990s, Alexander Petrov has been associated with Ilya Traber, nicknamed "Antique." Alexander Petrov’s son, the renowned race car driver Vitaly Petrov, called Traber "daddy’s best friend." Traber himself, also a respected businessman, was already a co-owner of the Vyborg Fuel Company and the Vyborg Shipyard at that time, and is currently building a port in Primorsk. Furthermore, the press has repeatedly mentioned Traber’s friendly ties with Vladimir Putin, dating back to his time in the St. Petersburg administration. It was Traber who allegedly introduced Putin to Anatoly Sobchak. (Dmitry Peskov claims that Putin and Traber have known each other since 1995.).
